What “Service-Ready” Actually Means Here
A dog must demonstrate:

Calm, predictable behavior in ordinary environments

Regulation that holds on routine walks and daily outings
-
The ability to recover quickly from excitement, stress, or disruption

Clear communication and trust with the handler
When these conditions are missing, task training cannot make up for it.
This Applies To:

Owners refining an existing service dog

Owners preparing a future service dog candidate

Dogs already performing tasks but struggling in public

Dogs labeled as service dogs whose behavior does not hold under real-world pressure
Labels do not override behavior.
Why We Do Not Rush Task Work
Public access demands more than obedience. It requires regulation that remains intact under distractions, uncertainty, people, untrained animals, and stress.
When regulation is unstable:

Training tasks on instability creates fragile dogs and frustrated handlers.

How Service Dog Work Actually Begins
All service dog paths begin the same way:

Initial Assessment
A 2-hour observational intake to determine whether regulation is present and what breaks down under pressure. -
Part 1 — Regulation Comes First
Daily life is adjusted until the dog demonstrates consistent, regulated canine behavior. -
Part 2 — Consistent Behavior Under Pressure
Only after regulation holds in ordinary pressures are service-level demands introduced in our Service Dog Owner Training Program. {Application required}
