This program is typically completed between 8 -12 weeks and includes:

• Four (4) Private training sessions 

• Monthly group lessons to practice under real-time distractions for 11 months

• Training of all dogs in the household (In-Private sessions only)

• A Training Guide written by us

• One (1) year support via private message

Paradise Life Program

Got a puppy?  Train effective pain free communication. Calm Embrace Program

Looking  to alleviate some stress in your dog's life?  

Your dog is undoubtedly a beloved part of your family, but let's face it, they can be a bit overwhelming sometimes.  Imagine a world where your dog walks calmly by your side, under heavy distractions!  Sounds too good to be true, right?  Well, with our program, it doesn't have to be just a dream.  Your dog can now experience life with you as the guide!

Experience the power of touch in our tailored tele-guidance session, designed specifically to address your unique needs.  Through advanced virtual training methods, we provide consistent and top-teir guidance no matter where you are.  Imagine a dog that behaves at home but also in all kinds of environments, from busy streets to peaceful parks.  Our program prepares your furry friend for real-world scenarios ensuring their adaptability and manners in any situation.

Do not let the challenges of thunderstorms, fireworks, motorcycles, separation anxiety, or reactivity discourage you -  join our program and embark on this journey to a harmonious bond with your canine companion or service dog.  Any dog no matter their title can have bad experience that influences them becoming unreliable. 

This program goes beyond the physical and gets back reliability 100%, offering digital support to accelerate your dog's training.  Engage in tele-guidance sessions at your own pace, moving from one level to the next.  And if you have any questions, our video sessions will ensure clarity every step of the way.

• Weekly video submissions so we can give you feedback on how your training is going

Service Dog Owner Training Program

Being a service dog is a very demanding job. It must be recognized that housebreaking, and mastering the behaviors of no nuisance barking, no aggressive behavior, and no inappropriate sniffing or intrusion into another person or dog’s space are an essential part of educating any dog for a career as a service dog.  If a small child runs up and grabs a service dog in the face, they must be able to tolerate it and not be phased. A service dog needs to be able to focus completely on their handler with ribs cooking nearby or if a dog in heat is in the vicinity and be 100% trustworthy.

It  isn’t just a matter of being pretty well behaved in public and making their handler feel better by being around. A service dog must have the temperament and training to be reliable in absolutely every situation they may encounter.  If your service dog is no longer reliable, call us we can help get you back on track!

A service dog must remain calm and focused even when their handler is in the midst of a meltdown. It is common to misinterpret a dog’s anxiety for an “alert,” “concern” or magically being born "knowing how to make it better". A service dog’s response to their handler’s emotional state should be a trained task and not an emotional reaction of their own.

In our program, dogs undergo ongoing assessment.  We help handlers who suffer from post traumatic stress, depression, panic disorders, hyper-vigilence, or other conditions attributed to a brain chemistry malfunction.

Training is highly practical, and canine candidates learn to:

​

1. Detect and intervene on early symptoms of anxiety and emotional distress

2. Contribute to a feeling of safety

3. Relaxation

4. Helps with sleep issues

5. Acts as an isolation breaker

6. Ground their handlers in public

7. Prevent people from crowding or surprising handlers from behind

8. Excellent impulse control under the highest of distractions​

Clarification:

While a dog’s companionship may offer emotional support, comfort or a sense of security, this in and of itself does NOT qualify as a “trained task” or “work” under the ADA, thus it does not give a disabled person the legal right to take that dog out in public as a legitimate service dog. Setting up a realistic training plan to transform a dog with a suitable temperament into an obedient, task trained service dog is accomplished by completing either the Masters Program or the Paradise Life Program.  Training is the only way to legally take the dog into restaurants, grocery stores, hospitals, medical offices and other places of public accommodation. 

Certification:

For starters,  the ADA does NOT require certification. So why certify?  We offer comprehensive service dog training for those seeking a trustworthy and well-trained companion. 

To ensure that you and your canine companion are well-prepared for any situation. With an emphasis on proven techniques, our experienced trainers will help you and your dog achieve the training standards necessary for life with a service dog. 

We are proud to vouch for our graduates' exceptional skills & accomplishments AND provide ongoing support.  Have comfort knowing you can refer any questions about you qualification to us.  We will acknowledge flight plans. (YES, the airlines do call us)

After certification:

But that's not the end of the journey. Certification is just the beginning. True service dogs excel not just in public setting but also in performing their trained tasks.   Teams are certified for a period of 1 year, Canine Assistance Puerto Rico is conforming to the set standards for Certification from ADI and comes with a ID card upon completion. Follow ups/re-certifications are done annually $40. We do this to insure the dog is still healthy enough to continue with Service Dog work and that no issues have come up.  Calm Embrace marks the  end of our program, training will be fully integrated into your lifestyle, and you'll experience the positive impact in your life! • Six (6) weeks of Task Training 

• Training Equipment Included

• Lifetime support so you know you will always be able to get help with your dog even after you graduate.

Dogs fit into different stages of training. SUBMIT an Initial Screening to discover whether your dog is a good fit.
